"Less Grace, Captain" | EVERY ALMOST Art Print | Illustrated by Alex Segura

"Less grace, Captain. You're dead. You're a dead dancing person."

Earth Night aboard the Emberkind. Charlie has just tried to explain the concept of a music video to a room full of beings who cannot fathom why humans would film themselves dancing to songs that already exist. Tavi, who has never once left a stable conversation alone, asks for a demonstration. And then he asks the Captain to try it.

What follows is a dance lesson for about ninety seconds, and then it turns into so much more.

This is that moment. It's Charlie's hand on Reyna's hip, the count lost, the room gone, and Reyna already looking back at her.

Illustrated by Alex Segura, who took a scene that lived in my head and handed it back better than I imagined it.
